Foundation hosts local fundraising events in communities across the United States in effort to raise awareness of the condition.  The most popular of these events continues to be the “Walk Now for Autism Speaks”.

Over the past several years the staff members of Extended Family Care have not only participated in the Walk, but they have raised additional funds to support the cause through branch fundraising efforts.  This year their favorite was “Crazy Crock Pot Day” on which lunch was volunteered by an office teammate.  Co-workers benefited with a hot meal in exchange for a small donation to Autism Speaks.  Total donation figures this year were estimated over $300.

Autism Speaks’ national efforts to raise awareness and monetary support of the fastest growing developmental disability around the globe has been supported by Extended Family Care for the past 5 years.  According to Carole Chiego, Administrator of the Branch, “they (the staff) have such a sincere dedication to the cause because they care about our clients and their families.  They never seem to mind donating their own time and money to support causes such as Autism Speaks”, she continued.

Extended Family Care has been servicing pediatric and adult clients since 1938.  They have been in the Allentown area since 2000 and the business continues to grow each year because of the dedicated and compassionate people they employ.  To find out more about Extended Family Care please visit www.extendedfamilycare.com.  To join a Walk or other advocacy efforts in your area visit https://www.autismspeaks.org.
