Pediatric Home Health Care near Monroeville, PA – There’s No Place like Home
“ 3 Different Stories near Monroeville, PA”
There’s no place your child feels more comfortable than in their own home. Their own bedroom, their own toys, their family members and everything else about home is what makes them want to be there more than anywhere else. Children thrive more at home than they do in a hospital getting the care they need. Pediatric home health care (PHHC) makes that possible for families just like yours.
Michael’s story – Michael is a young adolescent who required multiple tube feedings on a daily basis as well as someone to administer medication intravenously. Michael wanted to be able to attend high school just like other boys his age but it would have required his mom to end her career and stay home to home school Michael. Instead, they hired a PHHC nurse who was able to take over Michael’s medical care and allow him to attend and finish high school.
Serena’s story – Serena’s parents never suspected any problems with the upcoming birth of their daughter, as the pregnancy had been problem-free. However, things changed suddenly when at only 25 weeks, Serena was born. Serena required supplemental oxygen, help with temperature regulation as well as some other health challenges. When Serena was ready to be released from the hospital, her parents knew they wouldn’t be able to manage all her needs on their own with 3 other young children to look after and both having full-time jobs. They decided to try PHHC during the day when everyone else was at school and work.
Shawn’s story – Shawn needs complex medical care in a number of different areas. He is enrolled in several programs for special needs kids including horseback riding and baseball. His multiple mental and physical medical needs requires that he have a nurse attend all these activities with him. Shawn’s father works a full-time job and his mother Stacie is a nurse part-time. They have 1 older and 1 younger child. Shawn’s parents felt that in order for Stacie to spend the time she needs to with the other children they would need some part-time PHHC. Stacie also wanted to keep her part-time nursing position, so they knew in order to make this all happen for their family, they would try PHHC. It’s working fabulous for them and they have never looked back.
Being at home and having the opportunity to interact with their family members is an important part of a child’s development and happiness. Receiving the medical care they need in their own homes is what helps to make that happen.
