Extended Family Care of Pittsburgh with the assistance of the management team of Penn Center East, sponsored a local food drive in December in support of the North Hills Community Outreach
Barry Layton (M&J Wilkow) & Seth Gehman (EFC)Center. Various food collection sites were placed throughout Penn Center East hoping to gain local support. The project was named “Restock the Pantry” as an effort to replenish the food supply that generally depletes shortly after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Total food donations were brought North Hills Community Outreach in January and were expected to be valued over $600. “The building tenants really showed their genuine support of our efforts”, stated Barry Layton, General Manager of M&J Wilkow, Penn Center East Management Group.
Seth Gehman was also excited that the employees of Extended Family Care made such substantial contributions. “It’s great to see how much our employees care about those less fortunate than themselves. We always thought our employees were special, but their efforts last month proved our theory”, Seth concluded.
The success of the first food drive motivated the group to continue their community service efforts as a collaborative. Plans are currently being made for the next community project.
