Change is coming to Pennsylvania healthcare and Extended Family Care Pittsburgh is gearing up with new leadership. On January 1st Southwest Pennsylvania will begin its first phase of Community Health Choices, a program committed to increasing the opportunity for Pennsylvania’s elderly and disabled populations to stay in their home as opposed to entering institutional settings. Extended Family Care recently transformed its office and staff in preparation of the program’s arrival.
“We wanted a fresh look and to make certain the MCOs (Managed Care Organizations) recognize Extended Family Care as a leader within the home and community based programs”, said Stephen Sternbach, President and CEO. “In doing so, we needed to make some changes to our leadership team”, he continued. Nicole Kelly is now the Administrator of the Pittsburgh office and has brought on a new Director of Patient Services and two additional Patient Care Advocates to prepare for Pennsylvania’s transformation.
Ms. Kelly has already made significant changes to the office and wants to continue her outreach of improvements to the field staff employees. “We have a number of new and exciting programs to promote employee engagement with our field staff”, Nicole stated. The first was an Employee Appreciation Brunch which was held earlier this month and gave the staff the opportunity to enjoy a meal and to meet the new management team.
Several consumer and employee events are being rolled out over the next few months to ensure customer and staff satisfaction are at their peak when Community Health Choices rolls out in Pennsylvania.
